Overview of Santarome organic

The brand

In 1981, a pharmacist and a naturopath created Santarome. They started by marketing syrups concentrated in active ingredients of natural origin, then expanded their range with ampoules of plant and bud extracts. 

In 2017 Santarome became Santarome Bio and showed innovation by developing, among other things, the first multivitamins made from 100% organic plants.

As its name indicates, the entire range is organic and made in France. The goal is to get the best from plants using unique and effective formulations to improve health and well-being. 

Santarome Bio’s strength is the combination of phytotherapy and gemmotherapy (use of bud extracts) to enhance the effectiveness of its formulas. 

The products 

The brand mainly offers ampoules combining phytotherapy and gemmotherapy to address various issues: digestion, sleep, joints, detox.

But also:

• Organic bud complexes as extracts and tablets  
• 100% organic and natural multivitamins in tablet form 
• Chewable acerola tablets  
• A wide range of bee products 

Recently, the brand has innovated again and become a pioneer by offering de la phytotherapy in the form of organic gummies.

Our test

Products: ★★★★★

J’ai reçu les produits within 48 hours. They are well protected and beautifully wrapped in green tissue paper. A personalized thank-you card gives me the link to the brand’s social media and a contact email address. 

The product packaging is relatively simple. A cardboard box for the ampoules, an opaque plastic box for the chewable tablets and a clear plastic bottle with a safety opening for the gummies.

Fortunately, this type of plastic is recyclable.

The  leaflet on the product composition, their use and dosage is clear, but not always very readable.

It is not clear where the plant extracts come from. However, the presence of the French flag indicates that the products are processed and made in France.  

I had the chance to test three of their bestsellers: the ampoules organic “liver wellness”, the tablets organic acerola 1000 mg, and the gummies organic “sublime hair”.

Organic “liver wellness” ampoules

These ampoules combine the extract of 5 plants recognized for liver wellness (artichoke, black radish, dandelion, fumitory and turmeric) and a complex of 3 bud extracts known for digestive comfort (birch buds, juniper and rosemary).

The formula is highly concentrated, with a dry plant equivalent of over 3500 mg, which makes it particularly interesting for supporting the liver when it needs it.

The ampoules are 10 ml for a 20-day course (not exceeding 6 weeks).

This product is contraindicated in case of pregnancy and breastfeeding and many medical conditions, which is why it is always recommended to consult a healthcare professional before starting it.

As for the taste, you can’t say it’s very good but diluted in a little water, it is acceptable.

Organic acerola tablets 1000 mg

Acerola is a berry that grows in a tropical environment. This fruit is extremely rich in vitamin C and in antioxidants. 20 times more than an orange!

Vitamin C is particularly beneficial in winter to support a healthy immune system, it is also very useful for athletes and for people who smoke, as their needs are higher. 

Santarome’s acerola tablets contain 1200 mg of acerola juice powder standardized to 180 mg of vitamin C , which covers 225% of our recommended daily intake.

 I really liked its taste, slightly sweet and tangy. 

Gummies « sublime organic hair»

Santarome is the first laboratory to offer organic phytotherapy formulas that are 100% natural as gummies.

These gummies are meant to enhance hair thanks to 3 plant extracts (arugula, nettle and bilberry) and a complex of 3 bud extracts. 

The dosage is 2 gummies per day for 3 months for an optimal result. They are vegan, made from fruit pectin and contain little sugar, however the first ingredient on the list remains glucose syrup.

I find it unfortunate that the nutritional values and the carbohydrate content are not listed on the product label. 

As for the taste, nothing to complain about, it really feels like you’re eating a raspberry candy! It’s delicious and maybe even a problem because it makes you want to eat more than recommended.

Santarome Bio is a pioneer in the field of gummies made from organic plant extracts; there is no equivalent in France! I therefore chose to compare the price of the ampoules “organic liver wellness” and the acerola tablets.

Santarome seems more expensive than its competitors, but its formula is organic, contains more plants and is enriched with buds.

Also, the dosage requires fewer ampoules than Superdiet, which means that the plant extract dosages are higher.

The price of the 20-day treatment therefore remains more attractive with Santarome Bio.

For Acerola 1000, Santarome Bio is priced in the mid-range, and the amount of vitamin C per tablet is higher than that of other brands.

The brand’s products are all made in France and have the dual certifications AB and EU organic. This is a mark of quality. 

The majority of the plants used are sourced in France, when possible, the buds are all hand-picked in France and processed in the Vercors.

The indication of the quantity of extract for each plant and its equivalent in dried plant material is always given in the formulations, which makes it easier to assess the dosages.

On the website, each product page is very detailed, you can find all the information needed to make your choice, as well as a herbarium with all the medicinal plants used by Santarome Bio, their properties and which product to find them in.

On the Judge.me site there are 193 reviews. The average rating is 5 stars. The comments are, for the most part, positive and highlight the effectiveness of the products. 

Santarome bio is sold in more than 4,000 pharmacies in France and on Amazon. The products are rated between 4 and 5 stars. Most comments mention the quality of the products.

Santarome offers customer service that can be reached by phone or by email.

I sent my questions on a Saturday and received the answer quickly in less than 48 hours afterwards. 

My questions were about where the acerola was harvested and about the amount of sugar present in each tablet. The answers were clear and precise. 

The products are packaged in France without anyone knowing exactly where, they are all organic and have the dual AB and European organic certification.

Santarome bio commits to donating 1% of the revenue obtained from the sale of their new organic gummies to environmental organizations as part of 1% for the planet.
