Women’s hormonal balance is a complex system influenced by many factors: lifestyle, stress, nutritional and micronutritional intake, metabolism, insulin sensitivity…
When it is disrupted, it can manifest itself in various ways: irregular cycles, ovulation disorders, fatigue, hair loss, acne, subfertility.
Some active ingredients stand out thanks to strong scientific data supporting their effectiveness.
This is particularly the case for inositol, the central ingredient of the Ovastart dietary supplement, developed by the French laboratory SOVA.
SOVA: a French brand dedicated to women’s hormonal balance
Founded in 2021 by two sisters affected by PCOS (polycystic ovary syndrome), the SOVA brand quickly expanded to address all issues related to women’s hormonal well-being.
Initially focused on PCOS, this laboratory’s mission is to offer effective, well‑tolerated solutions, tailored to women’s hormonal issues.
SOVA develops its products following a rigorous scientific approach, in collaboration with scientific experts and French laboratories. As a result, the formulas are designed according to strict criteria of quality and bioavailability (absorption and effectiveness of the active ingredients).
With a selection of well-documented nutrients provided at relevant doses. Their goal is simple: to offer comprehensive, well-thought-out formulas that are suited to long-term use.

Ovastart: SOVA’s flagship supplement
Why I recommend it to my patients
This is the first product developed by SOVA, and also the best known. I personally recommend it regularly to my patients.
Ovastart is a dietary supplement specifically formulated for women’s hormonal balance.
It helps to support women’s hormonal balance in a global way, particularly for women who have:
- irregular menstrual cycles
- a hormonal imbalance
- ovulation disorders
- associated with other signs such as acne, fatigue, and hair loss
- metabolic disorders, particularly carbohydrate metabolism disorders
Thus, Ovastart is suited to a variety of profiles. Not only in cases of PCOS, but also when overall hormonal balance seems weakened.
Inositol, particularly effective
Inositol is one of the most studied active ingredients in the context of women’s hormonal imbalances. It exists in 9 different forms, and the forms that matter for this context are Myo‑inositol and D‑chiro‑inositol.
Myo-inositol has been recognized for several years as being particularly effective for insulin resistance, metabolic syndrome, PCOS and gestational diabetes, and more and more papers also show the effectiveness of the D-chiro-inositol form.
Ovastart provides 4 g of inositol (a blend of Myo-inositol + D-chiro-inositol) for 2 sticks, which represents the recommended dosage for optimal effectiveness.
Beyond inositol, a complete and synergistic formula
In addition to Myo-inositol and D-chiro-inositol, Ovastart also provides:
- zinc (in the optimal bisglycinate form): a mineral that is often deficient in women, essential for hormonal balance, necessary for cell division, fertility and pregnancy, and the great forgotten one of metabolic and carbohydrate balance.
- vitamin B9 in a methylated form: optimal because not everyone metabolizes folic acid properly, which is an inactive form of vitamin B9, necessary for cell division and embryonic development, it is before pregnancy that a deficiency must be corrected.
- vitamin B6 in its active form: too rarely offered in dietary supplements (and rarely in the right form), it helps support hormonal activity, energy metabolism, and the functioning of the nervous system.
All of these active ingredients will act in synergy with inositol to support hormonal balance, metabolism, and female fertility.
My opinion on the Ovastart formula
As a dietitian, I pay particular attention to the quality of the dietary supplements that I may recommend.
Many products on the market unfortunately contain poorly absorbable forms of micronutrients, as well as unnecessary, or even potentially harmful, additives.
This is not the case for the entire SOVA range: all SOVA dietary supplements contain only optimal forms of active ingredients, at consistent dosages, and without superfluous or controversial additives.
Thus, I can be sure I am recommending formulas designed to be effective, respectful of women’s physiology, and with no compromise on quality.
