As the first part of its name indicates, Ovoderm® is derived from the egg. More precisely from the eggshell membrane.

The eggshell membrane is a thin whitish film attached to the shell, before the egg white. You know, that membrane that especially peels off when you shell a hard-boiled egg?

Originally, it serves as a barrier to protect the embryo. But even if we don’t use it in cooking, it nonetheless contains many nutrients!

Indeed, it contains about 35% collagen, glucosamine, elastin, hyaluronic acid, chondroitin, and also amino acids.

Our joints and our skin naturally contain all of these molecules. Don’t worry, you don’t need to process your eggshell membranes yourself. There are already active ingredients designed to do it for you.

A patented ingredient rich in collagen

A complex of molecules

Ovoderm® is a patented active ingredient from Eggnovo whose manufacturing process, involving a gentle hydrolysis, preserves the essential beneficial nutrients of the eggshell membrane.

Its extraction process, which is also patented, allows for eco-responsible and sustainable manufacturing while ensuring the safety of use.

Known for its high collagen content, it is nevertheless not the only beneficial molecule found in it. Its composition includes:

  • of type I collagen: this is the collagen found in greatest quantity in the human body, especially in the skin and bones. It contributes to their structure and support.
  • of type V collagen : found on the surface of certain epidermal cells as well as in hair.
  • of glucosamine and chondroitin: often combined because of the effectiveness of their synergy, both are involved in maintaining the cartilage of synovial joints.
  • of hyaluronic acid, which plays a role in skin hydration in combination with collagen.
  • of elastin which promotes the elasticity of the skin and other tissues.
  • of amino acids, which enable protein synthesis.

A source suitable for vegetarians

Collagen is a protein found only in humans and in the animal kingdom. While there are plants that can help promote its production in the body, there is, however, no direct plant source of collagen.

However, most collagen dietary supplements on the market originate from fish skins and bones. And especially from bovine skin. Sources not suitable for vegetarians

Collagen from the Ovoderm® eggshell is therefore a good source of vegetarian collagen, suitable for this diet.

However, if you are vegan, there is no real source of collagen available.

What are the benefits of Ovoderm®?

Firmer, more elastic skin

Thanks to the richness of its composition, Ovoderm® has skin-beauty benefits that have been scientifically proven by 16 clinical studies

In addition to directly providing beneficial molecules, these compounds stimulate the natural production of collagen and elastin by the body.

When our skin begins to wrinkle, we may want to give it a helping hand. Thanks to collagen and elastin, Ovoderm® helps fight the signs of skin aging by acting on the firmness and elasticity of the skin, as well as its ability to reduce the appearance of wrinkles.

A study from 2018 reported that after 60 days of taking Ovoderm®, a significant improvement in the skin was observed.

The skin was 33% firmer and skin fatigue was reduced by 45% compared with the placebo group.

A strengthened epidermal barrier for more hydrated skin

Collagen and hyaluronic acid are two molecules that maintain the skin’s hydration level by retaining water within the tissues.

Their presence in Ovoderm® has shown an improvement in epidermal hydration by strengthening the epidermal barrier, which reduced water loss from the skin.

Beyond skin aging, I believe that supplementation with Ovoderm® is particularly beneficial in winter, when the skin tends to be more sensitive and dries out.

The results of a study indicated that 100% of participants were satisfied with the softness of their facial skin and 94% with its hydration.

What benefits for the joints?

Ovoderm® contains glucosamine and chondroitin, both found in synovial joints.

This ingredient has not been tested for its benefits on joints. But studies on eggshell membrane have shown benefits in relieving osteoarthritis pain.

Another patented ingredient also derived from egg membrane, Ovomet®, has been specially designed and tested for the prevention of joint pain
