My opinion

In my view, Mama Kana is a serious shop, well established on the French CBD market, with prices that really stand out from the competition. If you are looking to discover CBD without breaking the bank, to restock without costing you an arm and a leg, or to take advantage of good promotional offers, it is a safe bet.

The catalog covers the essentials, customer service is responsive, and the brand had the wisdom not to get caught up in the wave of synthetic cannabinoids that is currently sweeping through the sector. I really appreciate this choice from an ethical point of view.

On the other hand, if you are looking for total transparency on lab tests, extra resinous flowers, or premium packaging that makes opening it a pleasure, you will find better elsewhere.

Mama Kana is the good deal of French CBD: you do not come for the sensory experience, you come because the value for money is hard to beat and your wallet does not suffer. The site is fairly clear, customer service is responsive, and the products are decent, but we are not in absolute excellence.

Mama Kana

Mama Kana is a French CBD brand founded in 2020 and based in the Paris region. The brand quickly established itself as one of the benchmarks of the French market, driven by the promise of CBD at affordable prices.

Behind the brand is Joffrey Nadame, CEO and founder, surrounded by a team of 13 people with varied backgrounds: communications, marketing, customer service, order fulfillment, sales… They chose to humanize their brand: their “Who are we?” page highlights each team member and even Tashi, the mascot dog.

In a sector where many CBD shops remain very anonymous, that is a good approach!

In addition to their online store, Mama Kana also has physical stores in Paris, which allows them to reach customers beyond digital channels and offer in-person advice. The brand has also recently launched a CBD cosmetics brand (balms, creams, oils..).

A well-known, well-established brand that has managed to build loyalty among a large community in just a few years.

Methodology

For this review of the Mama Kana site, I ordered a CBD oil and ended up receiving two bottles thanks to the promotional offer running at the time.

I analyzed each step of the shopping experience. I also reached out to their customer service to test their responsiveness and the level of information provided before purchase.

I also reviewed their entire catalog, their transparency policy, and their delivery terms.

All of this to tell you what it is really like when you order from them. I’ll let you discover my verdict, as a CBD professional.

This analysis and the overall score are based on my experience and on 4 quality criteria: catalog, safety and transparency, popularity, customer experience.

The data is from April 2026.

1. Catalog ★★★★

I find Mama Kana’s catalog decent, though not exhaustive. It includes the essentials: CBD flowers (indoor, outdoor, greenhouse), resins, full-spectrum oils, e-liquids, cosmetics, and a few accessories. Enough to meet the needs of most consumers, without competing with the most extensive catalogs on the market.

The product pages are clear: the growing method is mentioned for the flowers, the concentrations are indicated on the oils, and pre-purchase information (shipping fees, delivery method) is available.

One point I find worth raising: unlike many competitors who have given in to the trend of synthetic cannabinoids (THCP, HHCPO, and the like), Mama Kana does not offer any. It’s a choice I appreciate, given how problematic the issue has been on the market in recent years.

I’m explaining why. Neocannabinoids are often sold as “natural” alternatives to THC or CBD. But in reality, these molecules are made from solvents and heavy metals. And unlike CBD, which does not bind to cannabinoid receptors, neocannabinoids bind to them completely, which produces much stronger and far less predictable effects.

No one knows their real impact on health in the medium and long term, and the feedback is increasingly concerning.

The fact that Mama Kana refuses to list them in its catalog is, to me, a real sign of seriousness.

One clarification about the flowers offered by Mama Kana: if you are a knowledgeable enthusiast looking for flowers rich in trichomes, generous in terpenes, resinous, and carefully grown, you will probably have to look elsewhere.

In fact, Mama Kana’s flower selection is mostly based on Italian production, decent, but far from the best on the market. This is not the destination for purists who want an exceptional flower. On the other hand, for the rest of the catalog (oils, herbal teas, CBD gummies…), the quality is good and the value for money really lives up to its promises.

For oils, the range goes from 5% to 20%. I tested their 10% oil and find the quality satisfactory. The balance between what you pay and what you get remains very appealing for this type of product.

2. Safety and transparency ★★★

This is where things get a little stuck in my opinion: Mama Kana does not share laboratory analyses on its product pages and does not provide them if the purchase has not yet been completed. I have a bit of trouble understanding the logic; it’s a shame for a market that lacks transparency…

This is not an exception in the sector, far from it (it’s even one of the market’s weak points), but it’s something that the most demanding consumers might take issue with.

The traceability on the origin side is decent: the products come from France, Switzerland, Italy. The brand is French, with no membership in a listed professional association. The fact that they have excluded synthetic cannabinoids from their catalog remains, in my view, a real positive signal regarding the brand’s seriousness.

3. Popularity ★★★★

Mama Kana has a rating of 4.5/5 on Trustpilot with more than 4,330 verified reviews. It’s a solid rating, supported by a large volume of reviews.

The brand is active on social media, with a community of around 5,200 followers on Instagram. Not the largest audience in the market, but a presence consistent with their positioning.

Founded in 2020, Mama Kana has managed to build a real reputation in a short time, which speaks to a certain level of business stability.

4. Customer experience ★★★★

The overall experience is good. Customer service is responsive by email and by phone, with relevant advice on CBD products. During my test, I asked for advice on choosing a product and the answers I received were consistent.

I also simulated a delivery problem and I was able to get a refund quickly.

Delivery is discreet and fast (3 days on average), with shipping fees of €6.90 and free delivery from €69. Whether to your home or to a pickup point. This threshold is a little high compared to some competitors who offer it from €39.

What stands out most to me is the sales promotions throughout the year: doubled orders, free products from a certain purchase amount, seasonal promotions. Interesting if you’re the type to keep an eye out for good deals before ordering.

For this test, my order was doubled. There was also a small freebie in the package: a lighter. Nothing amazing, but I thought it was nice!

The delivery packaging is very basic. No “wow” effect. It’s something functional and neutral, which guarantees discretion.

What is the value for money?

Reference price (10% full spectrum CBD oil): €1.89/mL

It’s one of the most competitive prices on the market. For comparison, the average on the sites I tested during my previous survey is around €3 to €5/mL for a 10% oil.

For flowers, the price range is wide, andthe tiered pricing system: the more you order, the lower the price per gram. Around €1.48/g for small buds and €1.98/g for most greenhouse strains. Hydroponic varieties go up to €3.50/g, which is still very reasonable for this growing method.

Affordable prices, but ones that reflect the quality: don’t expect an exceptional flower. It’s interesting for those who aren’t fussy about quality and are mainly looking to stock up at a low price.

I think these prices can be explained by their productions being mostly Italian, greenhouse-grown or outdoor-grown. Nothing extraordinary to expect in terms of flower quality: we won’t be dealing with very aromatic French indoor flowers.

And if we add the regular promotional offers (notably doubled orders), the value for money becomes frankly hard to beat.
