My opinion

In my view, Mama Kana is a serious shop, well established in the French CBD market, with prices that really stand out from the competition. If you’re looking to discover CBD without breaking the bank, restock without spending an arm and a leg, or take advantage of good promotions, it’s a safe bet.

The catalog covers the essentials, customer service is responsive, and the brand had the wisdom not to get carried away by the wave of synthetic cannabinoids that is currently sweeping through the sector. I really appreciate this choice from an ethical standpoint.

On the other hand, if you’re looking for total transparency on testing, resinous flowers to the fullest, or premium packaging that feels great to open, you’ll find better elsewhere.

Mama Kana is the good deal of French CBD: you don’t come for the sensory experience, you come because the value for money is hard to beat and your wallet doesn’t suffer. The site is fairly clear, customer service is responsive, and the products are decent, but we’re not in the realm of absolute excellence.

Mama Kana

Mama Kana is a French CBD brand founded in 2020 and based in the Paris region. The brand quickly established itself as one of the leading names in the French market, driven by the promise of CBD at affordable prices.

Behind the brand is Joffrey Nadame, CEO and founder, surrounded by a team of 13 people with varied backgrounds: communications, marketing, customer service, order fulfillment, sales… They made the choice to humanize their brand: their “Who are we?” page highlights each team member and even Tashi, the mascot dog.

In an industry where many CBD stores remain very anonymous, that is a good approach!

In addition to their online store, Mama Kana also has physical stores in Paris, which allows them to reach customers beyond digital channels and offer in-person advice. The brand recently launched a CBD cosmetics brand as well (balms, creams, oils..).

A well-known, well-established brand that has managed to build loyalty among a large community in just a few years.

Methodology

For this Mama Kana website test, I ordered a CBD oil and ultimately received two bottles thanks to the promotional offer running at the time.

I analyzed each step of the shopping experience. I also contacted their customer service to test their responsiveness and the level of information provided before purchase.

I also reviewed their entire catalog, their transparency policy, and their delivery terms.

All to tell you what it really is like when you order from them. I’ll let you discover my verdict, as a CBD professional.

This analysis and the overall rating are based on my experience and 4 quality criteria: catalog, security and transparency, popularity, customer experience.

The data is from April 2026.

1. Catalog ★★★★

I find Mama Kana’s catalog decent, though not exhaustive. It includes the essentials: CBD flowers (indoor, outdoor, greenhouse), resins, full-spectrum oils, e-liquids, cosmetics, and a few accessories. Enough to cover the needs of most consumers, without competing with the most extensive catalogs on the market.

The product pages are clear: the growing method is specified for flowers, the concentrations are listed on the oils, and the pre-purchase information (shipping fees, delivery method) is easy to access.

One point I think is worth raising: unlike many competitors who have given in to the synthetic cannabinoid trend (THCP, HHCPO, and the like), Mama Kana does not offer any. It’s a choice I appreciate, given how problematic the issue has been on the market in recent years.

I’m explaining why. Neo-cannabidnoids are often sold as “natural” alternatives to THC or CBD. The reality is that these molecules are made from solvents and heavy metals. And unlike CBD, which does not bind to cannabinoid receptors, neo-cannabinoids bind to them fully, which produces much stronger and much less predictable effects.

No one knows their real impact on health in the medium and long term, and the testimonials are increasingly concerning.

The fact that Mama Kana refuses to list them in their catalog is, to me, a real sign of seriousness.

A note about the flowers offered by Mama Kana: if you are a knowledgeable enthusiast looking for flowers rich in trichomes, generous in terpenes, resinous, and carefully grown, you will probably need to look elsewhere.

In fact, Mama Kana’s flower selection is mostly based on Italian production, which is decent, but far from the best on the market. It is not the place for purists who want an exceptional flower. On the other hand, for the rest of the catalog (oils, herbal teas, CBD gummies…), the quality is good and the value for money really lives up to expectations.

For the oils, the range goes from 5% to 20%. I tested their 10% oil and I find the quality satisfactory. The balance between what you pay and what you get remains very interesting for this type of product.

2. Security and transparency ★★★

This is where things get a little stuck in my opinion: Mama Kana does not publish laboratory analyses on its product pages and does not provide them if the purchase has not yet been completed. I have a hard time understanding the logic; it’s a shame for a market that lacks transparency…

This is not an exception in the sector, far from it (it is even one of the market’s weak points), but it is something that the most demanding consumers might take issue with.

The traceability on the origin side is decent: the products come from France, Switzerland, Italy. The brand is French, with no membership in a referenced trade association. The fact that they have excluded synthetic cannabinoids from their catalog remains, in my view, a real positive sign regarding the brand’s seriousness.

3. Popularity ★★★★

Mama Kana has a rating of 4.5/5 on Trustpilot with more than 4,330 verified reviews. It’s a solid rating, supported by a large volume of reviews.

The brand is active on social media, with a community of around 5,200 followers on Instagram. Not the largest audience on the market, but a presence consistent with their positioning.

Founded in 2020, Mama Kana has managed to build a real reputation in a short time, which speaks to a certain level of business strength.

4. Customer experience ★★★★

The overall experience is good. Customer support is responsive by email and phone, with relevant advice on CBD products. During my test, I asked for advice on choosing a product and the answers I received were consistent.

I also simulated a delivery issue and I was able to get a response quickly.

Delivery is discreet and fast (3 days on average), with shipping costs of €6.90 and free shipping from €69. Whether to your home or to a pickup point. This threshold is a little high compared with some competitors that show it starting at €39.

What stands out most to me is the promotional offers throughout the year: doubled orders, free products once a certain purchase amount is reached, seasonal promotions. Interesting if you like keeping an eye on deals before ordering.

For this test, my order was doubled. There was also a small freebie in the package: a lighter. Nothing earth-shattering, but I thought it was nice!

The delivery packaging is very basic. No “wow” effect. We’re dealing with something functional and neutral, which ensures discretion.

What is the value for money?

Reference price (10% full spectrum CBD oil): $1.89/mL

It’s one of the most competitive prices on the market. By comparison, the average across the sites I tested in my previous survey is around $1 to $1/mL for a 10% oil.

For flowers, the range is wide and the tiered pricing system : the more you order, the lower the price per gram. Around $1.48/g for small buds and $1.98/g for most greenhouse strains. The hydroponic varieties go up to $1.50/g, which is still very reasonable for this growing method.

Accessible prices, but ones that reflect the quality: don’t expect an exceptional flower. It’s interesting for those who are not picky about quality and are mainly looking to stock up at a low price.

I think these prices are explained by their production being mostly Italian, grown in greenhouses or outdoors. There’s nothing extraordinary to expect in terms of flower quality: we’re not talking about very aromatic French indoor grows.

And when you add the regular promotions (double orders in particular), the value for money becomes frankly hard to beat.
