Do you want to move into or retrain in nutrition professions? Once you have your BTS in Dietetics, you will have access to many career opportunities, in both the public and private sectors.
Taking a distance-learning course means having the possibility to maintain great flexibility throughout your training.
Tuition fees can range from about €1,495 to €4,850, depending on the institution. Whether you are a student, an employee, retraining, or a job seeker, I have identified several solutions to fund your distance-learning BTS in Dietetics.

Apprenticeship
Apprenticeship is by far what I recommend the most! Work-study is a very good way to finance your distance learning while being paid. The training is paid for by the company and the training costs can be covered by the skills operator (OPCO).
The pace of classes is set by the school (two days of classes per week and three days in the company, or one week of classes then two weeks in the company). You are an employee and receive five weeks of paid leave per year.
With an apprenticeship contract, you have the advantage of being regularly “in the field” and of being able to quickly make the connection between theory and practice, which greatly facilitates the learning process. The experience you gain is solid, which can also support later recruitment.
It is entirely possible to take distance-learning courses while being a work-study student. This is what, for example, Etudis offers.
Grants
The means-tested grant is based on your family’s or guardian’s income. You can test your eligibility here.
Getting your high school diploma with honors also gives you access to a merit-based grant.

My personal training account
Do you want to start a career change? Other solutions are available to you to help you finance the two years of training.
From the moment you enter working life, you accumulate CPF rights. More concretely, you accumulate money dedicated to the training courses of your choice: €500/year for full-time work, up to a limit of €5,000.
Many BTS in dietetics are eligible; I recommend that you get information directly on your account.
Apprenticeship for those under 30
If you are under 30, an apprenticeship is still possible. At the time of signing the contract, you must be, at most, 29 years old. Beyond that, an apprenticeship is no longer possible.
As I mentioned above, apprenticeships allow you to gain solid professional experience while being paid (up to 100% of the minimum wage after the age of 26).
Validation of prior experience
Are you already working in the field of nutrition and do you have solid knowledge in the field? Validation of prior experience, or VAE, may be a solution.
You will then need to put together a file justifying your experience, your knowledge and your skills in the field. The file is then reviewed by a panel. For my part, I do not recommend it because it does not allow you to follow a complete training program.
The Pro-A scheme
“The Pro-A scheme enables employees, particularly those whose qualifications are insufficient in view of changes in technology or work organization, to support their career development or promotion.”
It is intended for people whose highest qualification is below a bachelor’s + 3 years level. In this case, your employer finances your training with the aim of helping you move up internally afterwards.
You can find all the detailed information here.
The skills development plan
It allows you to advance internally through training funded by the company. The training options depend on your employer, so the simplest thing is to get in touch with them to find out more.
France Travail and regional councils
Are you a job seeker? In that case, you can get in touch with your France Travail adviser. They will tell you the steps to follow to obtain funding based on your project.
I also recommend that you turn to APEC, CAP emploi or the local mission to obtain regional funding.
Whichever option you choose, don’t forget that the BTS in dietetics is intensive. And to gain all the knowledge needed for the job of dietitian, I really recommend that you take the full course.
