✓ WHO ARE WE?
An editorial team specializing in nutrition. Authors of the book Beneficial Foods (Mango Editions) and the podcast Food Revolutions.

Here, we like to talk about everything related to food, whether earthly or heavenly, served on plates or on paper tablecloths, whether raw or refined, but we prefer when it is produced on living soils, when it honors the water cycle, and when it makes both our relationships and biodiversity flourish.

Here is an episode in which we will talk about agroecology, politics, solidarity, the common good and climate change.

The guest: Françoise Vernet, president of the association Terre & Humanisme.

Françoise Vernet has long worked in the business world. In 2009, she founded and directs the Pierre Rabhi Foundation.

Currently, she is honorary president of the association Terre & Humanisme for the transmission of agroecology. An expert member of the Ecological Transition committee of the Fondation de France, she is also a board member of 1% for the Planet France.

In the southern Yvelines, she created the AMAP for two villages, founded the Rencontres Citoyennes, and co-organizes the Quinzaine des Possibles.

At Actes Sud, she directs the “Je Passe à l’Acte” series and handles promotion for the essays in the Nature and Society collections. She co-authored the book Getting Involved in an AMAP in 2017 (Actes Sud). Qualified as a naturopath, she co-leads fasting and living-food cooking workshops in the Landes as part of Jeûne & Jardin.

My questions

  • Could you tell us why you got involved in agroecology?
  • What does ‘good agronomy’ mean to you?
  • Can you explain the concept of an AMAP?
  • Can you explain to us the purpose of Terre & Humanisme? How many of you are there?
  • What is food sovereignty? Where do we stand in France and in Europe?
  • There is a lot of talk about the climate. Can you say a few words about the state of soils in France and in Europe? And about water? And about biodiversity?
  • How can people eat well when they are vulnerable?
  • What projects are you running with Les Restos du cœur?
  • What is solidarity gleaning? What are solidarity meals? What are solidarity gardens?
  • Are you also working on energy self-sufficiency?
  • What is your favorite recipe?
