Diet boxes have become essential in recent years. They operate on a simple idea: delivering everything you need to follow a specific meal plan directly to your home.

Their promise? To help you lose weight without the hassle. Generally, these boxes include pre-portioned servings for each meal that you only need to complete with fruit, fresh vegetables, and sometimes dairy products, according to the provided recommendations.

To provide even more support, some plans include monitoring by a nutrition professional, such as a dietitian and a fitness coach. This duo allows the program to be personalized to your needs and maximizes your results.

However, not all boxes are equal. To help you see more clearly, we conducted an in-depth study of the 7 main weight-loss programs, compared according to 3 criteria.

Methodology and comparison criteria

To compile this comparison, I identified 3 qualitative criteria based on the characteristics of the programs. Each criterion is rated out of 5, and the average of the 3 scores determined my final score and ranking.

1. Nutritional quality of the meals offered

One of the key points to consider is the content of the meals. These take different forms: freeze-dried pouches, canned meals, or fresh meals. Among them, fresh meals stand out for their higher nutritional density, providing greater amounts of vitamins and essential nutrients. This characteristic gives them a privileged place in this comparison.

Moreover, I carefully evaluated the quality of the ingredients used, giving particular importance to fresh products from local supply chains or organic farming. This choice highlights not only the nutritional qualities, but also the environmental impact and the traceability of the meals. 

When brands specify the origin of the ingredients, it provides an additional guarantee of transparency and reliability.

Another key criterion is the absence of additives, GMOs and artificial colorings, ensuring healthier dishes that meet the expectations of health-conscious consumers.

Finally, the diversity of the menus offered has been carefully examined. A varied meal plan is essential to avoid monotony and to meet all nutritional needs.

The inclusion of specific options, such as dishes suitable for vegetarian or gluten-free diets, reflects special attention to dietary restrictions and consumer choices.

2. Customer experience

The user experience is not limited to the simple contents of the boxes, but encompasses the entire journey offered by the brand.

For example, some companies offer a mobile app. It can be very useful for choosing menus, tracking weight changes, or for receiving real-time advice. 

The program may also include regular appointments with professionals, such as dietitians or fitness coaches, which adds a human and personalized dimension to the support.

Moreover, motivation tools, such as mutual support community groups on social networks, help strengthen user engagement. These groups, often present on Facebook, allow users to share their successes, exchange advice, or simply find moral support, which can make a big difference in the success of a weight loss program.

3. Professionalism and reliability of the brand

A brand’s reputation plays a decisive role in choosing a box. 

Brands with a long-standing presence in the market generally inspire more trust, as they demonstrate longevity and an ability to adapt to consumer expectations. 

I also took into account their presence and reputation on social media, by looking at their number of followers.

Customer reviews left on Trustpilot provide valuable insights into user satisfaction and the quality of meals and service.

Finally, the responsiveness of customer service was evaluated by sending an email to support. The speed and completeness of the reply, in my opinion, are indicative of a stronger or weaker level of commitment from each company.

Qilibri is a French brand launched in 2019, known for its dietary rebalancing programs. The offering adapts to different goals, whether to lose weight or simply adopt a more balanced daily diet.

At Qilibri, the dishes are cooked in France, with ingredients carefully selected for their quality. All meals are guaranteed GMO-free, free of colorants, and free of artificial preservatives.

The Nutri-Score of the dishes ranges from A to B. The meats used are of French origin, and the vegetables are prepared according to the seasons, which guarantees optimal freshness and a balanced nutritional intake.

The program includes 4 meals per day  – breakfast, lunch, snack and dinner – over 6 days a week, for a caloric intake of between 1,200 and 1,300 kcal per day.

With a choice of 85 main dishes and 33 breakfasts and snacks, Qilibri offers a wide variety, thereby limiting monotony, which is often demotivating in this type of program.

Laurent Trochain, a Michelin-starred chef, assists Qilibri in designing its recipes.

The meals are cooked and then sterilized, which allows them to be stored at room temperature for several months. Just reheat them in the microwave or in a water bath before eating.

Qilibri is not limited to meal delivery: it also offers dietary supplements designed to boost weight loss and optimize results. These are offered as part of their Qilibri Boost plan, a special program allowing accelerated weight loss (an average of 18% additional weight loss) !

To complete the program, access to a mobile app is included. It allows tracking your results, managing your meals, and receiving personalized advice to improve your diet.

A monthly support with a dietitian is also included. This support helps personalize the program, offering recipe ideas and encouraging the adoption of new sustainable eating habits.

Furthermore, access to the TrainMe platform offers a wide selection of workout video classes, suitable for all levels.

Thanks to these many advantages, the Qilibri program was voted Product of the Year in 2023 and also nominated for the Top Santé and Marmiton Awards 2025.

On social media, Qilibri is still lightly followed on Instagram, with only 7,300 followers, and does not have a dedicated Facebook account. However, a private group of over 1,600 members allows users to share their experiences and stay motivated throughout the program.

On Trustpilot, Qilibri shows an average rating of 4.6/5  based on 2300  customer reviews. The majority of users highlight the quality of the meals and the reliability of the support. However, some comments concern occasional errors in orders.

Customer service is very responsive on the phone: the information provided is clear, and the answers are precise.

Cheef allows you to choose between several programs depending on your pace and your goals. You can opt for 2 to 6 meals per day, over a period of 5 to 7 days per week.

The brand also offers specific options for gluten-free or vegetarian diets, although the selection of dishes is slightly more limited in those categories.

Cheef’s dishes are guaranteed additive-free, GMO-free, and have a Nutri-Score of A or B. To make the culinary experience even more enjoyable, some meals are reworked by Michelin-starred chef Marc Meurin, adding a gourmet touch to the menus.

Cheef offers more than 150 meals and 50 breakfasts and snacks. Supplements are offered when you subscribe.

In the catering plan, the meals are prepared each week in Lille, following the seasons. You can choose from 22 dishes each week, as well as 30 options for breakfasts and snacks, ensuring plenty of variety and reducing monotony.

A private Facebook group of over 8,500 members allows you to share your progress, ask questions and find moral support. A significant asset for maintaining your motivation.

With a rating 4.9/5 based on more than 8,400 reviews on Trustpilot, Cheef enjoys almost unanimous approval from its users. The strengths cited include the quality of the meals, the responsiveness of customer service, and the personal support. KitchenDiet’s meals are guaranteed free of additives and GMOs. The vegetables used are seasonal, the meats are of French origin, and the fish come from sustainable fisheries. From a nutritional standpoint, the meals provide an optimal amount of protein, which contributes to a balanced diet.

As with other programs, KitchenDiet recommends adding fresh fruits, vegetables, and dairy products to adjust caloric intake and meet each user’s specific needs.

Meals are delivered every two weeks, on the day of your choice, via refrigerated trucks. Once received, the meals should be stored in the refrigerator to ensure their freshness.

The meals are delivered all at once for the entire program, with no option to choose individual meals.

The offer includes 75 different dishes as well as 14 breakfast and snack options. The dishes are made in France, guaranteed free of GMOs and preservatives. The meats used are of French origin.

Régime Box lacks visibility on social media, with only 18 followers and an almost inactive page. However, customer service is very responsive: despite the phone line sometimes being busy, advisors call back quickly and answer questions clearly.

One of Régime Box’s main advantages, in my opinion, is its competitive pricing.


Weight-loss programs: FAQ

Yes, these boxes, based on a large calorie deficit, can lead to rapid weight loss. However, losing weight too quickly can be harmful to your health and difficult to maintain over the long term. It is preferable to opt for a gradual, balanced approach.

Moreover, weight gain is often a symptom of an underlying problem: poor understanding of nutritional needs, an altered relationship with food, metabolic imbalances, etc. While slimming boxes can be effective in the short term, they do not address the real causes. That is why weight often returns at the end of the program.

How long do you need to follow a weight-loss program to see results?

It depends on the individual and the goals. Results can be visible within a few weeks if the program is well adapted.

What should I do if I don’t get the expected results with a weight-loss program?

Slimming boxes are generally very low in calories. If you are not losing weight, it may be due to excessive consumption of foods outside the planned meals or a metabolic disorder preventing weight loss. In that case, it is essential to consult a healthcare professional for appropriate support.
