If you want strong, shiny, and healthy hair, know that nutrition plays a fundamental role. A balanced diet rich in essential nutrients, such as proteins, vitamins, and minerals, is essential for having beautiful hair.

Le Complexe Cheveux – Nutri&Co : best hair supplement 🥇
Advantages
- High keratin concentration
- Bioactive biotin
- Clinically proven
- Made in France
- Transparency
- Top-notch customer service
- No additives
Disadvantages
- No iron or zinc
Nutri&Co is a French brand founded in 2017; it offers dietary supplements for sports, health, and beauty.
Although it contains only two active ingredients, biotin and keratin, the Nutri&Co hair complex receives a very good score in our ranking. This is notably due to its safety, with a flawless formula free of controversial additives and a rare transparency.
Indeed, with Nutri&Co there is no doubt: we know everything about the product we are buying.
The cynatine® keratin used is a patented keratin, made in France, soluble and bioavailable. Its effectiveness is clinically proven.
The biotin is extracted by fermentation and filtration in a laboratory located in China. It is in the form of highly absorbable bioactive D-biotin.
Nutri&Co capsules contain 200% of the NRV for biotin and 500 mg of keratin.
The brand’s customer service is efficient and very fast. I received a response a few hours after requesting information.
Nutri&Co is a brand with excellent reviews; it has a 4.6/5 rating on Trustpilot. In addition, it is followed by 64,000 people on Instagram.
A one-month course of the Nutri&Co hair complex costs 26.90 euros, i.e. €0.69 per day. This price is a little high compared to the product’s composition, but it is fully justified by the quality of the ingredients that make up the course.
Effluvium – NHCO: best alternative
Advantages
- 20 active ingredients
- High keratin concentration
- High zinc concentration
- Contains iron
- Very good absorption
- Made in France
Disadvantages
- Lack of transparency
NHCO is a French dietary supplement brand founded in 2008 by a pharmacist who is an expert in micronutrition. This brand is notable for adding specific amino acids to its formulas according to needs.
Effluvium contains 20 active ingredients which makes it the dietary supplement with the most active ingredients. It notably contains iron, zinc bisglycinate at 150% of the NRV as well as 100% of the NRV in biotin.
To complete its formula, NHCO adds 3 plant extracts: pepper and arugula, which promote microcirculation, and horsetail, rich in silica essential for hair production.
The formula is optimized by a high concentration of keratin, the presence of amino acids, and collagen.
NHCO’s dietary supplements are made in France; they contain no additives and their formula is created by a specialized scientific committee.
One drawback: the origin of all the ingredients that make up the capsule is not known.
NHCO is a trusted brand that has been operating for 16 years; it has a very good rating of 4.8/5 on review sites and has 33K followers on Instagram.
Its customer service is efficient and fast.
A box of Effluvium costs €42.90 and is valid for 10 weeks of treatment. This represents €0.62 per day. The price is in the average range, which is attractive for a product of this quality.
Formule Cheveux – Novoma: best hair and nails supplement

Disadvantages
- Not very responsive customer service
- Expensive
Novoma is a French brand founded in 2012; it specializes in dietary supplements for fitness and health.
The Novema hair formula contains 7 active ingredients with very good bioavailability. It notably provides 100% of the NRVs for zinc bisglycinate and 200% of the NRVs for biotin in a bioactive form.
It also contains 500 mg of hydrolyzed cynatine® keratin, the amino acid arginine known to improve hair growth and two plant extracts that promote microcirculation, arugula and bilberry.
Novoma capsules are plant-based and do not contain any controversial additives. The formulas are developed and manufactured in France in a laboratory in Toulouse.
The formula is also effective for nail growth and nail health.
Novoma has a rating of 4.6/5 on the Trustpilot review site. The brand is followed by 14.5K followers on Instagram. Unfortunately I did not find the certificates proving the product’s quality and safety on the website.
Novoma’s customer service answered my questions accurately but lacks responsiveness. I had to wait 6 days to receive a response.
A one-month course of Novoma’s hair formula costs €24.90, which amounts to €0.80 per day.
Good Hair – Lashilé Beauty : best hair gummies

Rating: 3.7/5
Nutrition: ★★★★☆
Safety: ★★★★☆
Brand: ★★★☆☆
Advantages
- 13 active ingredients
- Made in France
- Clinical study
- No controversial additives
- Top-notch customer service
Disadvantages
- Average absorption
- Only 50% of the recommended daily value for zinc
- Lack of transparency
Lashilé Beauty is a French laboratory specializing in nutricosmetics. Since 2017, the brand has been revolutionizing the world of dietary supplements with its gummies.
Good Hair contains 13 active ingredients with a complex of vitamins and minerals including 55% of the RDI for zinc and 1800% of the RDI for biotin. I find it a shame that the amount of zinc is so low, and that the amount of biotin is so high.
Providing such high doses has no additional effect because water-soluble vitamins like biotin are excreted in the urine in case of excess.
Hair Complex also contains two plant extracts, horsetail (rich in silica) and bilberry, which stimulates microcirculation.
Lashilé Beauty’s gummies are vegan, made from maltitol, pectin and citric acid. There are no other additives.
Maltitol is a naturally derived sweetener that does not pose a health risk, but it can cause stomach aches in sensitive people if consumed in large amounts.
The gummies are manufactured in France; unfortunately, there is little information on the origin of the active ingredients, particularly the plant extracts.
Clinical tests under dermatological supervision showed effectiveness in 100% of users after a 3-month treatment. Unfortunately, the number of participants in this study is unknown.
Lashilé has a rating of 4 out of 5 on Trustpilot and a large Instagram community with 117 K followers.
Its customer service is fast and efficient, they answered my questions precisely in less than 24 hours.
A Good Hair treatment costs €24.90 for 1 month, which is €0.83 per day.
Hair Complex – Nutralie: best value for money
Advantages
- 16 active ingredients
- Contains iron
- Good amount of zinc and good absorption
- High-quality customer service
- Attractive price
Disadvantages
- Contains additives
- No keratin
- Lack of transparency
Nutralie is a Spanish brand founded in 2018. Hair Complex contains 16 active ingredients, a comprehensive range of vitamins and minerals including 35% of the NRV in bisglycinate iron, 65% of the NRV in zinc and 900% of the NRV in biotin. The absorption of the minerals is good.
The formula contains cysteine, an amino acid naturally present in keratin, but also four plant extracts known for their anti-hair-loss properties, notably saw palmetto and pumpkin seed.
Nutralie capsules are plant-based, they contain two additives, magnesium stearate, which is not controversial, and silicon dioxide, considered not very recommendable by the magazine Que Choisir.
Nutralie’s customer service is exemplary with a response provided within 24 hours after submitting the request.
A minor drawback is the lack of transparency regarding the ingredients used. I would have liked to find quality certificates on the website.
Nutralie scores 4.6/5 on review sites like Trustpilot and has 10K followers on Instagram.
A 3-month course of Hair Complex costs €24.90, which comes to only €0.27 per day. Hair Complex proves to be the best value for money in our comparison.
Complexe cheveux Bio – Amoseeds: best organic hair supplement
Advantages
- Organic
- 100% natural
- Zero additives
- Made in France
Disadvantages
- No vitamins and minerals
- Lack of transparency
- Customer service a bit slow
Amosseeds is a French brand specializing in the sale of organic superfoods since 2019.
The Amosseeds hair complex contains only 3 organic plant extracts. The presence of plant extracts without other active ingredients allows it to obtain organic certification, which is impossible for supplements that contain vitamins and minerals.
The plants used are bilberry, whose richness in antioxidants stimulates the hair bulb. Horsetail, rich in silica, contributes to hair beauty, and arugula activates microcirculation, allowing proper nourishment of the bulb. The plants are highly concentrated to optimize effectiveness.
At Amosseeds, the capsules are plant-based and contain no additives. They are made in France.
The plants used come from Europe but the country of origin is not known. Unfortunately, no traceability certificate is available on the website.
Amoseeds has a rating of 4.5/5 on Trustpilot and has 15.3K followers on Instagram.
Customer service answered my questions clearly and precisely, but the response time exceeded one week. That’s a bit long.
A one-month course costs €17.99, or €0.59 per day.
Selection criteria
1. Nutritional value
Amount of active ingredient in the product
To care for hair, many elements are necessary. The more active ingredients a product contains, the more likely it is to target the underlying problem. It will then be more effective.
Presence of iron and zinc in sufficient quantities
These two minerals are very important for hair growth. For women, who are often iron-deficient, its presence is a real plus in the dietary supplement.
Zinc, for its part, is severely lacking in our everyday diet. For a significant effect on hair growth, a minimum of 100% of the NRVs is necessary.
Adequate amount of biotin or vitamin B6
Biotin is the B-group vitamin most important in “the formation” of hair, so its presence is essential in a dietary supplement for hair beauty.
I highlighted brands that provide between 100% and 400% of the NRVs. Some brands offer much higher concentrations but that is not a quality criterion.
Indeed, there is no point in overdosing on biotin because, in excess, it is eliminated in the urine.
Absorption of active ingredients
I based my assessment on the bioavailability of the active ingredients present in the formula.
For zinc, one should favor zinc bisglycinate because it is the most absorbable form. Zinc citrate has moderate absorption, whereas zinc oxide is much less well absorbed by the body.
For vitamin B, the D-biotin form is bioactive and well absorbed by the body.
For keratin, a hydrolyzed form is preferred as it optimizes the proper absorption of the amino acids that make it up.
Presence of keratin or amino acids specific to hair production
Keratin is the protein that makes up 95% of hair. Providing it in a dietary supplement ensures all the amino acids necessary for hair production. It’s an advantage that I highlighted in the ranking.
I also paid attention to the presence of amino acids specific to keratin synthesis such as cystine or methionine, traditionally used to strengthen hair or promote its growth. However, no serious study can guarantee their effectiveness.
Presence of plant extracts
Plant extracts are useful when they are a source of silica, but also to activate microcirculation at the bulb level, helping to optimize hair growth and nourishment.
This is an important point to improve growth and naturally boost hair strength.
2. Safety
To evaluate the product’s safety, I mainly relied on 3 criteria.
Presence of additives
I favored brands that use the minimum amount of food additives, whether controversial or not.
Presence of controversial additives
The presence of controversial additives such as talc or other nanoparticles was heavily reflected in the score for this category.
Quality certificate freely available on the website
To me, this demonstrates exemplary transparency and often very good quality. It’s extremely reassuring for the consumer.
Country of manufacture
I favored French manufacturing, with a focus on locality and because regulation is important.
3. Brand reputation and credibility
To evaluate the brand’s credibility and reputation, I relied on various criteria:
- The company’s founding date because longevity is often a sign of quality
- Its reputation on social media such as Instagram and the number of followers
- Reviews on review sites such as Trustpilot or Avis Vérifiés
- The responsiveness of customer service: I sent each brand a list of questions, which allowed me to assess the speed and accuracy of the responses provided
Frequently asked questions (FAQ)
What is the best dietary supplement for hair loss?
It is difficult to answer this question because, in reality, it depends on the specific problem. If our hair is not in top condition, it can be due to many factors: a diet poor in vitamins and minerals, a diet too low in protein resulting in reduced keratin synthesis, inflammation of the scalp, or a hormonal cause. However, if you have a balanced and varied diet and provide keratin, you optimize the supply of the amino acids specific to hair synthesis. This gives you the best chance of having beautiful hair. Taking keratin alone when your diet is poor in vitamins and minerals will have little effect. For hair formation, various cofactors are essential, the best known being iron, zinc, and vitamin B8 (biotin). If the scalp is damaged, I recommend choosing a hair supplement based on herbal medicine to cleanse it and activate microcirculation.
Which vitamin is most effective for hair?
Several vitamins are essential for hair growth, notably all the B-group vitamins but also vitamin C, vitamin E, and vitamin D. However, the most important is vitamin B8, also called biotin. Indeed, biotin’s role is to enable keratin synthesis. A 2016 study on hair loss shows that more than one in three women are deficient in biotin. That is why biotin is often prominently included in hair supplements.
How long does a course of vitamins for hair last?
For it to be effective and optimal, all laboratories recommend a hair course lasting a minimum of three months. That is the time needed for growth of about 4 to 5 cm. That does not prevent seeing effects from the first month.
