Products

Range

Epycure offers personalized supplementation based on answers to an online questionnaire. The brand also offers chewable gummies formulated to address various needs: hair, sun care, detox, stress and sleep.

It also sells a complex of probiotics and prebiotics, products to boost immunity (vitamin D3, lozenges containing acerola, zinc and selenium).

Finally, among the products there is a slimming powder made from guarana, mate, spirulina and pumpkin seed protein.

Focus on the personalized regimen

I completed a online questionnaire to obtain my personalized diagnosis. I provide my first name, whether I usually take dietary supplements or not, my sex, and my main goals.

I selected :

  • “to have stronger hair and nails, clearer skin”
  • “improve my athletic performance”
  • “improve my concentration”
personalized supplements

Then I answer a series of questions about my lifestyle, about my diet, my consumption of fruits, vegetables and dairy products, my exercise routine, my sleep rhythm etc. Finally I must indicate whether I have intolerances, allergies, or dietary restrictions.

Then with one click I get my personalized recommendation. It is a blend of active ingredients including vitamins and trace elements.

My formulation will be contained in two capsules to be taken daily for the duration of the course.

Our test

Product: ★★★★

Personalized regimen

I tested Epycure’s personalized regimen, the hair and stress gummies as well as the probiotic & prebiotic complex.

When I opened my package I discovered a pretty backdrop in the brand’s colors. I find the packaging of the pro and prebiotic complex very appealing with its recyclable glass jar.

The labels are clear and precise and indicate the list of ingredients, the dosage, and the storage recommendations.

Epycure reviews

Olfactory-wise, the capsules have a neutral smell. I had no difficulty swallowing them. No aftertaste detected.

The bottles of the personalized regimen (one for home and one for travel) bear my initials.

The advantage of the personalized regimen is that I only have two pills to take per day, unlike the competitor Cuure for example which requires taking more capsules.

They contain a blend of all the active ingredients recommended for me based on my needs and my lifestyle.

Sun gummies

The gummies are colorful; you would think they were candy. They are orange-flavored, which is noticeable in both their scent and taste. They are easy to chew.

I found humorous messages under the gummy packets that made me smile.

I made a comparison of the composition of these gummies with those of two competitors.

IngredientsEpycureLashilé BeautyLes Miraculeux
Copper content *0.8 mg0.15 mg0.5 mg
Beta-carotene content *7 mg4.8 mg1.2 mg

The Epycure gummies contain more active ingredients (8 in total) than the gummies from Lashilé and Les Miraculeux. Regarding copper and beta-carotene levels, they are more concentrated.

Price: ★★★

The personalized 1-month regimen costs €29. With a three-month commitment, it comes to €27 per month, and with a six-month commitment, it’s €25 per month.

I made a price comparison of the personalized regimen and the solar gummies with those offered by several of Epycure’s competitors.

Personalized regimen

Price rounded, April 2021EpycureCuure
Personalized 1-month treatment (+ shipping costs)€33.90€27

The personalized regimen is more expensive at Epycure. A price difference is noted due to shipping costs (free at Cuure from €20).

The formulations and active ingredients offered are not identical between the two brands, which also explains the price difference.

Solar gummies

Price rounded, April 2021EpycureLashilé BeautyLes Miraculeux
Copper content *0.8 mg0.15 mg0.5 mg
Beta-carotene content *7 mg4.8 mg1.2 mg
Price per gummy€0.42€0.42€0.47

* for 2 gummies

The price per solar gummie is the same at Epycure as at Lashilé and more affordable than at Les Miraculeux. In terms of composition, Epycure’s gummies contain 8 active ingredients vs 6 and 4 respectively at Lashilé and Les Miraculeux.

The delivery is free for purchases over €100, otherwise the fees amount to €4.90. Delivery is available in France and Belgium. The delivery time is 2 to 3 business days.

Transparency: ★★★★☆

Epycure does not systematically specify the origin of ingredients in its dietary supplements. For example, the green tea extract in the stress gummies comes from China. The holy basil leaf extract comes from Asia. However, the origin of the spirulina powder in the detox gummies is not mentioned.

The brand does not specify its raw material suppliers for raw materials. Product certificates of analysis are not available on the product pages.

Epycure founders

Epycure was founded in 2019 by Angélique d’Esclaibes and Paul-Etienne Jacob. Before Epycure, Angélique launched Amalone, which sold men’s swimwear. She studied at ESSEC. Paul-Etienne graduated from ESCP. He is the founder of Massage Chouette, a therapeutic massage service for companies.

Epycure recently raised €2.5 million to accelerate its R&D and expand in Europe. Its main investor is Founders Future, a startup studio created by Marc Ménasé.

Expertise: ★★★

The list of ingredients used in formulations is clearly presented on the site. Each product page details what the ingredient is, its benefits, and provides usage advice. Scientific references are sometimes mentioned.

On Epycure’s blog, the wellness gazette, there are articles on wellness, nutrition, recipes and expert advice.

They are written by nutritionists, naturopaths, and the co-founder of the brand, among others. Some articles are accompanied by scientific references.

Note that the co-founder left the company recently.

I conducted an analysis with the Semrush tool to determine the traffic of Epycure’s website. In March 2021, the number of unique visitors was approximately 17,400.

On social media, the company has more than 3,300 followers on Facebook and more than 29,000 followers on Instagram.

Trust: ★★★

To contact the customer service, you can fill out an online form or call them by phone. The Epycure team commits to providing a response within 24 hours.

You can also contact Epycure via Facebook.

I contacted customer service to ask them these questions:

  • When during the day is it recommended to take the gummies?
  • What is the amount of glucose syrup and sugar in your gummies?
  • Can people with diabetes take gummies as supplements?
  • What is the recommended duration for the Hair Gummies treatment?
  • What is the optimal storage temperature for the Probiotics & Prebiotic Complex?
  • Where does the spirulina powder in the detox gummies come from?

Here are the answers I received:

I received clear and precise answers quickly (in less than 24 hours) to my questions.

The production of the supplements takes place in France. The gummies are manufactured in Saumur in the Loire Valley and the capsules in Moréac, in Morbihan. The powders are manufactured in Francheville near Lyon.

Gummies, tablets and some capsules are certified ISO 9001 (quality management), ISO 22000 (food safety) and ISO 22716 (good manufacturing practices for cosmetics).

Some capsules have also obtained AFNOR certifications (the French Association for Standardization) and HACCP (food safety).
