Sequoia: benefits, dosage, contraindications

Mis à jour le

The giant sequoia, a majestic tree native to California, also known as "redwood" because of the distinctive reddish color of its bark, symbolizes strength and virility. Indeed, it is the most massive tree on the planet, reaching 80 m in height and 10 m in circumference. Its evergreen leaves are flat, pointed, aromatic needles, whose scent is reminiscent of anise. In gemmotherapy, sequoia buds are prized for their toning action, particularly in mature men. They are reputed to improve the prostate health: chronic prostatitis and prostate adenoma. Its buds are also used for their ability to stimulate adrenal hormones, which helps support sexual functions. In women, sequoia helps fight fibroids and combat osteoporosis thanks to its ability to stimulate bone formation. More generally, the Sequoia is an anti-aging ally for men and, to a lesser extent, for women.
